Two French Cities Go Live with Mobile Ticketing using Masabi’s JustRide SDK

First Launches in Orleans and Montargis with “Plan-Book-Ticket” Apps, Developed by Strategic Partner Keolis and its Digital Subsidiary Kisio Integrating Masabi Ticketing Technology

London and Paris – June 26th, 2017. Masabi, the global leader in transport mobile ticketing and innovative fare collection, today announced the first two deployments of mobile ticketing using the JustRide SDK, the world’s first mobile ticketing Software Development Kit (SDK) for the transport industry, used first by Keolis and its digital subsidiary, Kisio. “Plan-Book-Ticket” by Keolis is available now for bus and tram passengers in Orleans, after Montargis went live in January 2017. The SDK allows Masabi’s strategic partner Keolis to incorporate mobile ticketing into existing travel information, booking and planning apps, greatly improving the travel experience in these cities.

“Plan-Book-Ticket” incorporates market leading visual and barcode-based mobile ticketing and validation technology from Masabi’s award-winning JustRide Platform. It allows French public transport agencies to create fully-integrated, custom branded, ticketing and trip planning applications. Orleans has also deployed Masabi’s JustRide Inspect Validator across the tram network, which allows passengers to scan their mobile tickets after they board.

The JustRide SDK allows an integrated app to manage payment, request fare types and deliver visual and barcode tickets to a passenger through the ticket wallet. The SDK communicates with Masabi servers to understand complex fare tables and manages the ticket, it’s life-cycle and security. Operators using the SDK will also have access to the JustRide Hub, from where they can access a wealth of back-office data including real-time sales, usage and validation information, reporting and an extensive customer services and asset management interface.

Typical JustRide SDK customers include major transport operators interested in a differentiated front-end experience but wanting a secure robust ticketing back-office, passenger information apps, as well as messaging and payment platform providers. Masabi’s mobile ticketing technology is already in use with more than 25 transport operators world-wide, including; New York’s MTA, Transport for Athens, Boston’s MBTA, National Express Bus, Las Vegas RTC, Los Angeles Metrolink and HTM The Hague.

“The JustRide SDK is a game changer for the mobile ticketing industry, allowing strategic partners like Keolis to incorporate our proven mobile ticketing technology into their existing mobile apps and services. By incorporating our ticketing technology into the “Plan-Book-Ticket” solution, Keolis can delight passengers and improve efficiency for transport agencies,” said Brian Zanghi, CEO of Masabi. “Keolis is our first partner to use the JustRide SDK to provide mobile ticketing to transport authorities in Montargis and Orleans and we look forward to launching with them in more French towns and cities.”

"Thanks to Masabi technology, we are able to provide to French PTA's a mobile ticket with the same validation and control experience for passengers as with the usual contactless card. This is absolutely critical to prevent fare evasion," said Laurent Kocher, Executive Director, Marketing, Innovation and Services, of Keolis Group. “Montargis and Orleans are the first cities in France that benefit from this new application and digital experience in 2017,” he added.
