September 23rd, 2015 – London and Paris: Masabi, the global leader in transport mobile ticketing and innovative fare collection, and Keolis, the leading international public transport operator, today announced that they will be partnering to offer mobile ticketing solutions. Under the terms of the agreement Keolis will initially incorporate Masabi’s mobile ticketing technology (2D barcodes) into a fully integrated mobile application to simplify the daily lives of passengers as part of Keolis’ PlanBookTicket strategic initiative for the French market. The two companies will also co-operate in other markets globally.
Masabi’s award-winning platform, JustRide, is a cloud-based, deployment-proven, end-to-end mobile ticketing and fare collection system. It comprises services for ticket purchase, display and inspection together with back-end infrastructure for secure payments, ticket management, customer service, reporting and real-time analytics.
“The smartphone is revolutionising the passenger’s relationship with public transport and nowhere is this more obvious than mobile ticketing,” said Brian Zanghi, CEO of Masabi. “This shift is gaining pace globally and we are excited to be working with Keolis to bring our proven technology and experience developed from deployments across UK Rail and in major cities such as Boston, Athens and New York, to France and other global markets.”
“As a public transport operator, one of our key priorities is to improve our passengers’ travel experience,” said Jean-Pierre Farandou, Executive Chairman of Keolis. “Our approach is to digitalise mobility to make transport simple and easy. This is why we have developed the PlanBookTicket platform, of which mobile ticketing forms a central component. We are confident that Masabi is the right partner to support our ambition towards connected mobility.”
