At Masabi, we are passionate about revolutionizing public transit through the use of cutting-edge technology and, to that end, we are thrilled that our Static Ticketing API is being used to power an integrated ticketing pilot program for LA Metro and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Association for the 2024 Hollywood Bowl summer season.
This collaboration marks a significant step forward in promoting the convenience of public transit in Los Angeles, simplifying the journeys of music lovers heading to the world-famous venue.
Supporting Event Ticketing: Enhancing the Concert-Goer's Journey
This summer, music enthusiasts can purchase a GoMetro Round-Trip Pass, valid on Metro buses and trains, at the same time as purchasing their concert ticket.
They will then receive two digital tickets with a single transaction: an event ticket and a transit pass. This seamless integration is designed to enhance the overall experience, making it easier and more convenient for attendees to travel to and from the Hollywood Bowl.
How it Works
For more than 70 Hollywood Bowl shows this summer, Metro will provide QR codes powered by Masabi as the digital transit pass for attendees who choose to bundle their concert ticket with a transit pass.
This technology is already familiar to many in LA, as it is the same system used by Metrolink to deliver digital tickets that riders use to transfer seamlessly onto Metro services.
Masabi was able to support LA Metro by delivering this solution in just a few weeks, demonstrating the speed and efficiency with which our solutions can be deployed.
On Metro Rail you can scan your GoMetro Round Trip Pass QR code at the scanner located on fare gates.
For ungated stations without scanners, you may board without scanning, but be prepared to show your QR code to Fare Compliance Officers or Transit Security upon request.
