Masabi’s first deployment in Italy delivers cloud-native mobile ticketing platform for bus services in the city of Potenza

Potenza, Italy and London, UK,  25 April 2023 Bus Miccolis, the Italian bus operator serving cities across the regions of Southern Italy, has today announced that it has launched a next-generation mobile ticketing system in the city of Potenza, delivered by Municipia and powered by Masabi, the award-winning Fare Payments as a Service provider. The deployment is the first of its kind for Masabi in Italy, and the first with Municipia, part of the Engineering Group, a leader in process digitalization for companies and public administration.

The new Mobility Ticket app will enable Bus Miccolis passengers to purchase tickets anytime, anywhere, and have them available at the click of a button – increasing convenience and also speeding up the boarding process reducing bus dwell time at stops – meaning more convenient and faster journeys for passengers.

Bus Miccolis users can pre-purchase tickets for future use or purchase a ticket on the day of travel. When waiting to board the bus, riders simply activate their tickets or passes and then display their activated tickets when boarding.
